The Rotary Foundation

Rotary’s main objective is service, in the community and throughout the world. Some US$90 million has been invested by the Rotary Foundation for educational and humanitarian projects. Polio Plus is Rotary’s commitment to eradicating polio. By the year 2012, it is expected that Rotary’s financial commitment for its polio program will exceed US$825 million. Its other major commitments include the 3-H Program (improve Health, alleviate Hunger and enhance Human & Social Development), providing food and water resources, literacy and vocational training in developing countries. Its educational programs include Ambassadorial Scholarships, which is the world’s largest privately funded source of international scholarships. Grants have also been awarded to university teachers to serve in developing countries and in international exchange.
